Pathways
Pathways
Students who select any flexible pathway for learning, other than a class offered in the NHMH or WMHS buildings will be enrolled in a "Pathways" course and assigned a Pathways Coach.
Pathways include the following paths for learning:
1. independent studies
2. online courses
3. college courses
4. work-based learning opportunities
5. experiential learning with a mentor
Ideally, students meet with the Coordinator of Student Support in the spring to design their pathway and complete a contract.
This course of studies is appropriate for students who are motivated independent learners and skilled at time management and meeting deadlines.
The goal of the Pathways program is to offer multiple flexible pathways for learning and meeting proficiencies for students who are excited about learning either a subject/ content area that is not offered in the schools, or who are interested in learning in an alternative mode other than a traditional classroom.
Pathways is not meant to replace courses offered in the school.
Please refer to the Pathways Handbook for more information.
