Every week the EpicReads website recommends YA books in an an "If you like __, then try___ -- here's why" format. For example: "If you like Maximum Ride, then try Reboot. Browse this database of all of The Young Adult Library Services Association's "annual selected book and media lists, awards, and honorees. ...These books and media have been selected for teens from 12 to 18 years of age, and span a broad range of reading and maturity levels."

You can download the free app or just access it in your browser. Answer a few questions about what kind of book you are looking for and the app will generate a great list of recommendations.
YourNextRead
Type in the title of a book you liked and this site will create a web of other titles you might like to read next. You can also browse through the lists of featured books. You don't have to have an account to get recommendations, but if you sign in, you can store your preferences, save lists, create a "map" that links your books, and connect to your GoodReads account (and import your GoodReads bookshelves -- definitely a timesaver).

Look for stars when you are searching the catalog, indicating that someone reviewed the book. Sometimes it's just the stars, other times there is a written review. You can write your own reviews, too. More info on that is here.
