Ancestry Classroom
AncestryK12 offers free access to all the original and primary documents of Ancestry's U.S. Collection, Fold3 (military records) and Newspapers.com (historical newspapers).
You can access Ancestry Classroom from within Northfield Middle High School, but not elsewhere.
Passenger Search - the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island
"The Ellis Island Archive contains the passenger lists of more than 51 million immigrants, passengers, and crew members who came through Ellis Island and the Port of New York from 1892 to 1957."
Northfield Historical Society
The Northfield Historical Society, in addition to the exhibits you can see when you visit, has some historical publications available digitally on their website.
Among the publications available on the website are full-text, searchable issues of the Northfield High School Yearbook, The Rambler, which began in 1921 and continues to be published each school year. Years available on this site are 1921-1999.

FamilySearch
FamilySearch is a genealogy organization operated by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It was previously known as the Genealogical Society of Utah and is the largest genealogy organization in the world." It claims to have "the largest collection of genealogical and historical records in the world."
To access the records, you need to set up an account; it's free but you need to be at least 14 years old. People upload their own family trees to link them to the world-wide tree on the site. If you are using information from other people (rather than actual vital records), make sure to verify!
Genealogy Explained
This site contains information to help you get started on your research and helpful advice on how to use specific types of sources (like How to Search U.S. Census Records, and The Ultimate Guide to Military Records for Genealogy). It also has articles such as Genealogical Proof Standard, which not only explains Proof in Genealogy, but also contains helpful definitions of Basic Terms to Know. Everything is explained in detail, using easy to understand language.
VTGenWeb for Vermont History and Genealogy
The USGenWeb Project has free online genealogy help and information for every U.S. state and county. Pages for each state are maintained by volunteers, so they are organized in different ways. Each state page is further broken down by county and then by town/city.
