Contract for participation in the musical

I am aware that many of you have another obligation with winter sports.  However, just as your coaches have expectations that you will participate fully, I also have expectations.  It is very difficult for me to schedule all of my practices around the basketball/hockey schedules as they have practice every day.  I will do my best and I expect that you will attend as many rehearsals as possible.

My rehearsals override any spring sport practices.

As a member of the spring musical, I __________________________agree to:

  1.  ATTEND REHEARSALS: You will receive rehearsal schedules in a timely manner.  If you cannot attend a rehearsal you need to inform the directors as soon as you are aware of this conflict.  This does not mean on the same day.  Emergencies may occur, but this is not acceptable otherwise. My cell # is 498-8699I will be taking attendance and 3 unexcused absences will tell me that you no longer choose to be a part of this production. 3 strikes and you are out!

  1. KEEP GRADES UP: This is the same rule as those on sports teams.  If your grades are not up to par, if a student falls below a 2.01 in any class you must attend after school help and show improvement to be able to perform in the show.

  1. HAVE A POSITIVE ATTITUDE: Everyone who tries out will be accepted into the cast.  However, if you choose to come to rehearsals with a negative attitude, or refuse to listen, or decide to come late or not at all to rehearsals, you may be removed from the cast list.

  1. ARRIVE ON TIME: We will do our best to start and end on time and you should do your best to arrive 5-10 minutes before the scheduled time so that when we start, everyone is ready to begin. This is common practice for sports teams as well.

  1. COME PREPARED:  It is very obvious when you haven’t practiced your music, dance steps and dialogue at home.  The more you know without your book, the more we can improve the interactions on stage and raise the quality of your performance.

  1. CHECK THE INFORMATION BOARD: Because not everyone has an email or a cell phone we will have an information board available for everyone that will have rehearsal times, last minute changes and "good job" notes.  This will be located in our glass case in the T/ or the middle school hallway.  There will be no reason for anyone to say “I didn’t know” because you will have this available to you daily!

  1. CHECK THE FACEBOOK PAGE/SCHOOL DRAMA WEB PAGE: I will have updates or changes on the both of these pages as well.

  1. STAY AFTER THE LAST SHOW TO BREAK DOWN THE SET AND CLEAN: We are all on one team for 3 months.  We need the help of one another to make this last step of putting on a show go quickly and it cannot happen if you leave after the last show without helping.  I am the director next year too, and I will know who my team players are and who cannot be relied upon to help in our time of need.

Parents and Students will sign below if you have read and understand the expectations for the spring musical. This must be handed in before you can be in the play.
