(STAGE, LIGHTING, AUDIO & SET CREW)

Contract for participation in the musical

I am aware that many of you have another obligation with winter sports.  However, just as your coaches have expectations that you will participate fully, we also have expectations.  It is very difficult for us to schedule all of the work around the basketball schedule as they have practice every day.  We will do our best and we expect that you will attend as many rehearsals as possible. Rehearsals and stage work over ride any Spring sport practices.

As a member of the spring musical, I agree to:

  1. ATTEND REHEARSALS and TAKE PART IN STAGE WORK: You will receive rehearsal and stage work schedules in a timely manner.  If you cannot attend you need to inform the directors as soon as you are aware of this conflict.  This does not mean on the same day.  If you miss two days without letting us know, you will be dropped from the crew.  Emergencies may occur, but this is not acceptable otherwise. We will give you our cell numbers, or use the school e-mail to contact us.
  2. KEEP MY GRADES UP: This is the same rule as those on sports teams.  If your grades are not over a 2.01 you are not allowed to participate.

  1. HAVE A POSITIVE ATTITUDE: Everyone is welcome to help build sets. However, if you choose to come with a negative attitude, or refuse to listen, or decide to come late or not at all, you may be removed from the set crew list.  Be respectful to EVERYONE involved in the play, stage crew, performers, advisors and adult volunteers alike.

  1. ARRIVE ON TIME: We will do our best to start and end on time and you should do your best to arrive as close to the scheduled time as you can so that we can get as much work done as possible in the time that we have.

  1. COME PREPARED: Bringing your own tools would be very helpful.   Drill drivers are always in demand.  Wear old cloths or a cover up for painting.

  1. CHECK THE INFORMATION BOARD: Because not everyone has an email or a cell phone we will have an information board available for everyone that will have rehearsal and set work times, last minute changes and "good job" notes. This will be located on the music room door.  There will be no reason for anyone to say “I didn’t know” because you will have this available to you daily!

  1. CHECK FACEBOOK & WSSU PAGES: Striebe will have updates or changes on the Facebook page as well. On the WSSU home page look for NMHS DRAMA under ACTIVITIES on the NMHS page for more up to date information and news about the play.  We also have a new site on Office 365.

  1. STAY AFTER THE LAST SHOW TO BREAK DOWN THE SET AND CLEAN: We are all on one team for 3 months. We need the help of one another to make this last step of putting on a show go quickly and it cannot happen if you leave after the last show without helping.  Mrs. Striebe is the director next year too, and I will be doing set crew. She and I will know who the team players are and who cannot be relied upon to help in our time of need.

Parents and Students sign below if you have read and understand the expectations for the spring musical. This must be handed in before you can be on the crew.
